Brahmins
The Brahim's (also called the Brahmana's) are the highest class out of them all. The majority of Brahim's consist of being priests, scholars and teachers.
To some, the Brahim's are considered in being the middle men between God and men. This clearly means that they are significant people that many look up to.
Although their lives are luxurious, they have many expectations and rules that they must follow. They are expected to show exemplary behavior, as they are role models for the lower classes and they must not set a poor example.
They must marry someone from their own class (jeti). If not, this would be classified as 'poor behavior' and may have to face serious consequences.
The Brahim's are entitled to study the Vedas (Indian scripture) and perform rituals as entertainment for others, and themselves. They also have the power to make laws. The three classes below them must be respectful towards them, as the Brahim's hold great power of India's society. This is because they represent the north and south areas of India, so they are extremely significant people.
The Brahim's, as expected, are a highly educated class. This is because they are wealthy and can afford schooling funds, unlike many other castles in period of time. Also some Brahim's are teachers, so they can teach their children education that they will need in the future.
